Snorkeling spots near Rabac - hidden beaches and crystal-clear bays

If you’ve ever seen photos of the Adriatic looking unreal, there’s a good chance they were taken somewhere around Rabac and Kvarner Bay.
This part of the coast is full of crystal-clear water, rocky beaches, hidden coves, reefs, and small bays that are perfect for snorkeling. And honestly, the best spots usually aren’t the crowded beaches everyone already knows about. The real gems are the quieter places hidden between cliffs and forest, especially the ones you can only reach by boat.
One of the most famous spots in the area is the Blue Cave (Plava špilja) near Lubenice on Cres Island. The light inside the cave creates an insane blue glow underwater, especially during calm sunny mornings, which is why it’s become one of the most popular swimming and snorkeling spots around Kvarner Bay.
Another place worth mentioning is Valun, a small fishing village on Cres surrounded by clear water, rocky coastline, and quiet bays perfect for swimming and snorkeling away from bigger tourist crowds. The whole area has a much calmer atmosphere compared to busier beaches around the mainland.
Then there’s Pragajena Beach on Cres, which honestly looks like something straight out of a drone video. Surrounded by rocky cliffs and turquoise water, it’s one of those places where people usually stop talking for a minute once they arrive. The beach is especially known for its open view toward Istria and incredibly clear sea.
Closer to Rabac, spots like Girandella, Lanterna, and smaller hidden coves along the coastline offer amazing snorkeling conditions, especially during early mornings when the sea becomes almost completely flat. Around the reefs and rocks, it’s common to see schools of fish, sea stars, sea urchins, and underwater formations just a few meters below the surface.
That’s also part of the experience on the Levante Explore Day Tour, where the focus is on discovering hidden beaches, quieter bays, snorkeling spots, and the kind of coastline you usually only see from a boat.
Morning tours are usually the best because the sea is calmer, the water is clearer, and there’s less boat traffic around the coastline. During summer afternoons, the sea gets warmer and perfect for longer swimming and snorkeling sessions.
At Levante Tours, snorkeling trips are all about exploring hidden beaches, quieter bays, and the kind of spots you’d probably never find on your own from land.
